This year’s exciting garden beach party themed, Walk-about and Auction will be at the world-renowned Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. It will feature distinctive wines from internationally acclaimed vintners, poured and paired with fine cuisine created by a selection of the area’s top chefs. While wining and dining, attendees will enjoy live music and the excitement of a silent auction. Destin Charity Wine Auction Kicks off 2009 with the Tasting of Champions Event
Charity Wine Auction Foundation holds grand wine tasting event to raise money for children in need
The Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation enters 2009 with its kick-off event called the “Tasting of Champions” which takes place at Baytowne Wharf’s Magnolia Ballroom on Friday, January 9th. Ticket sales for the gala will go towards supporting several charitable children’s organizations along the Emerald Coast.
The Tasting of Champions event will showcase over 600 wines which are entered into the Sandestin Wine Festival. During the evening’s wine tasting, the Grand Champions will be announced and medal winners will be recognized in over 70 categories.
Eight local children’s charities will benefit from this year’s festivities: Children in Crisis, Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Sacred Heart Hospital Emerald Coast, Youth Village, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, and Brilliant Minds. Each organization serves a unique and specific need for children.
The Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation is one of the Emerald Coast’s most successful non-profit organizations, with over $2 million raised within the last three years. The ongoing mission for the DCWAF is to raise funds in an effort to support severe needs in the lives of children.
