The northwest Florida panhandle, also referred to as the Emerald Coast, is blessed with pristine white-sand beaches and emerald-colored waters. It’s also home to a world class resort community where the residents sport a casual and relaxed attitude but are obsessed with great wine, great food, and giving back to the community. In late 2005 all of these strengths and passions were combined with the establishment of the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, whose sole purpose is to raise money for children in need through wine events.
Bolstered by a passionate and engaged board of directors, our first event was held in April 2006 and was attended by over 200 people, including an A list of celebrity vintners and chefs. Result: over $250,000 was raised!
In April 2007 our second event exceeded our wildest expectations by raising $814,000 with over 300 attendees. Most importantly, all that attended our events (vintners, chefs, attendees, etc.) want to come back and bring their friends. This coupled with the $1,000,000+ raised in less than two years to impact the lives of countless needy children along the Emerald Coast, has made the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation one of the fastest growing and most talked about wine charity foundations in the nation.
Poised for another recording-breaking year in 2008, the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation is firmly committed to enriching the lives of children in need. Come be a part of the excitement and help make a difference in a child’s life.
